The Author of the Story of Life

Life is a story, and everyone here is a character. No story can exist without an author. The Author of our story created life itself. He made many characters, each with their own thread of story. Every thread is woven together, creating the most beautiful tapestry of all.

This story has light and darkness, love and hate, justice and mercy, a conflict, and a resolution yet to come. With all the many threads and colors whirling around us, it is easy to lose sight of who we are and where the end is.

Smaller stories have been written by some of the Author's characters, all echoing the Greater Story in their own way. Reading stories reminds us of two things: all stories have conflicts, and they all have resolutions. In stories, the characters we love most are the ones that fight for the right ending, even if it takes them a while to realize which one that is. We are characters. You have the ability to choose what character you want to be. Will you fight for the right ending? Or will you endlessly struggle against the truth?

Just like you, I am a character. I am a poem created by the Author of Life. I echo His story in my writing and spend much time exploring the stories made by others. I grew up with seven other amazing characters, my parents and siblings. I love watching beach sunsets, singing church hymns around the house, walking down long gravel driveways lined with trees, wandering through the woods and fields with my yellow lab, listening to film soundtracks and folk pop, snuggling in a nest of cozy blankets with a cup of tea in hand, and so much more.

Every character needs a drive, a goal, a motivation. So, what am I doing here?

I want to show you something. I want to show you the Story — or the little we can see. I want to show you how beautiful it is. I want to get down in the nitty-gritty details and find the hidden wonder of the world. I am here to tell you about stories and point out the sources they echo. I am here to tell you stories, to reveal some of the beauty of reality, and point you towards the Author of Life.
